Pets of the Month - Dapple, Tater Tot and Spot the Cat (Read more about Spot at The Cat Corner.)
These two precious companions come from complete opposite sides of the country but are the best of friends. Dapple was born about 9 years ago in the woods of Jonesboro, AR and is half Beagle and half Jack Russell. She stole my heart when I saw her in the pound and wouldn’t come to me. Since that day she has been my princess with the perfect eye liner. Dapple and I up and moved to Coeur d’ Alene from Memphis, TN not long after I adopted her. We were in Coeur d’Alene about a year when I found Tater Tot, or AKA Tater the Tooter, in the Silver Valley. He was the perfect addition to the Laing family. We have been a happy family since that day, even when we adopted Spot the Cat.
Dapple and Tater Tot both love to run on any trail, back yard, or right out the front door to the neighbor’s grill if they can make it in time. When there is snow that makes any run that much better. The snow also makes the digging better since that is something they both enjoy doing. Dapple and Tater are always so sure that there is a treasure at the bottom of the snow. In warmer weather, Tater is a swimmer while Dapple is more of a wader. She doesn’t like the water to mess up that beautiful hair of hers. These two play together, talk to each other, nap together and help maintain each others’ appearances by keeping their eyes and ears clean. Oddly enough there are those people that think they are just dogs, but in their little minds they think they are people too.
