Earlier in the month, the Meurlott Crew, headed out of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and crossed the border to the east.  These Cd’A Dog About Towners vacationed outside of Butte, Montana where they enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors.  The two-legged members of the pack are photographers - Paw Prints By CnE Photo. They shared some photos with us.  Montana here we come!

It was all smiles and friendly sniffs again this year at GoodDog’s annual Spring Fling. Hot dogs and cookies were consumed by two-legged guests while the pups ate tail waggin’ good dog treats with relish (no, not hot dog relish). Guests mingled at the front of the store, as squeaky toy sounds emanated from the back. There were also sounds of whistling, clapping, and the calling of names, names like Sparky and Bubba.  Paw Prints Photography was working their magic, taking pet portraits. Thanks to Paw Prints, GoodDog, and some of the two-legged guests that day, Dog About Town Northwest can share some wonderful pup portraits and profiles.  In today’s entry we’ll introduce Spring Fling 2012’s very special guest - Sampson:

Sampson in early stage of recovery

Sampson in early stage of recovery

Some time around the beginning of April, a small boxer, later to be known as Sampson, crawled out of the woods near Athol, Idaho.  He was starving, had two head wounds, an ear wound, and rain rot on his hind end.  A good citizen found him by the side of the road and rushed him to a nearby vet. Sampson was so weak that he could not lift his head. He was put on an IV for fluids, and Claudia at River City Pet Rescue was called. Claudia answered the call and has been taking care of Sampson, which has included surgery due to foreign objects ingested while Sampson was living on his own.

It’s approaching two months since Sampson was found. The foreign objects that he’d consumed are no longer with him, his wounds have healed, he has gained weight, and he is a happy and loving boy, who will soon be ready for a forever home!

A social boy, Sampson was pleased to be at the Spring Fling event and it shows in his portrait.

There are more pet portraits and profiles to come.

See you soon!
